Benevolent Care – A Home for Life Fund

As the cornerstone of the Lifespace Foundation mission, the Benevolent Care – A Home for Life Fund is truly “friends helping friends” and “neighbors helping neighbors”. That is what you accomplish when you support the Benevolent Care – A Home for Life Fund. Even with careful planning and years of saving, residents may exhaust their financial resources. Thanks to the benevolent care promise, qualified residents can remain in their home, with their friends, and receive the care they need. With two options to support this Fund, you’re invited to join our growing circle of friends who are creating a lasting impact in the lives of seniors.
The Benevolent Care Annual Fund: Contributions support the Lifespace Community of your choice to meet the immediate benevolent care needs in that community.
The Lifespace Benevolent Care Endowment Fund: Contribution provide support for the future, creating a fully endowed Fund that, through interest alone, will be able to fund our benevolent care needs.

Lifespace Beyond Benevolence Fund

Though the Benevolent Care – A Home for LifeFund covers day-to-day living expenses, residents receiving this support continue to face challenges and unexpected emergencies without adequate resources to handle these situations. The Beyond Benevolence Fund assists those experiencing financial hardship due to circumstances beyond their control when other assistance is inadequate or unavailable. Your contributions to this Fund complement and essentially multiply the effects of the Benevolent Care – A Home for Life Fund.

General Use Fund

Every Lifespace community is unique. Each has its own needs, personality and resident culture. The General Use Fund supports the special activities, programs, initiatives and equipment unique to the community. It impacts the lives of residents across the continuum of care. When you donate to the General Use Fund, you support the areas of greatest need now in your Lifespace community. These donations give communities the greatest latitude, in collaboration with The Lifespace Foundation, to decide how your gift may best be leveraged to meet these needs.

“I like to support the General Use fund, because this gives us an opportunity to consider high-priority enhancement projects recommended by residents without relying solely on increasing our operating budget.”

— Irv Omtvedt, Grand Lodge at the Preserve Resident

Spiritual Care Fund

Aging can test a person’s capacity for loss. With increasing frequency, it seems, older adults lose friends and loved ones, beloved pets, the privilege and independence of driving an automobile, the ability to remain in their own home, and even the loss of precious family memories. Spiritual care and nourishment within the community help Lifespace residents manage the challenges and tragedies that come with living a long, full life. The Lifespace Foundation is committed to providing access to spiritual care for residents of all faiths and their families. Contributions to this Fund support these needs.

“I like supporting the Spiritual Care Fund,  because we have a place to worship,  regardless of our personal faith.”

— Joann Hollensteiner, Oak Trace Resident

Health Center Fund

Quality of life is a priority at each Lifespace community, and that applies to residents receiving care in our health centers as well as those in residential living.  The Foundation recognizes the importance of treating all needs – emotional, mental and spiritual – in addition to the physical needs of residents. Contributions to the Health Center Fund offer direct support to residents receiving care in a Lifespace health center.

Library Fund

In many communities, the central gathering place is the library.  At Lifespace, resident volunteers – many of whom are avid book lovers or who worked in academia – manage the community libraries and continually update the collection based on the interests of residents. Contributions to the Library Fund support this passion, enthusiasm, and love for reading and learning.

Team Member Emergency Assistance Fund

By definition, an emergency is unexpected. Often, it can cause tremendous financial burden. This fund is designed to provide short-term assistance to full-time team members experiencing financial hardship due to a qualifying emergency event beyond their control. Contribution help eligible team members when they need it most.

Team Member Scholarship Fund

The Team Member Scholarship Fund provides critical financial support that enables part-time team members with at least one year of active service to advance their education at a trade or technical school, community college, or four-year college or university. Full-time team members with at least one year of active service are eligible to apply for tuition assistance through Lifespace Communities, Inc. Contributions to this Fund help fill that gap for those who are not otherwise eligible for scholarship support.

Lifespace Charles M. Hall Nursing Scholarship Fund

In 2016, Lifespace Communities lost a dear friend and colleague, Charles M. Hall. Charles was a dedicated and passionate member of our nursing team who devoted his time and talents to the practice of geriatric nursing. In pursuit of keeping Charles’ memory and passion for caretaking alive, Charles’ family and Lifespace team members established the Charles M. Hall Nursing Scholarship Fund.  Contributions to this Fund support one Lifespace Communities team member, annually, in pursuit of their dream to become a registered nurse or to achieve an advanced degree in nursing.
