The Lifespace Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization soliciting tax-deductible private contributions for the benefit of Lifespace Communities, Inc. functions as a supporting organization under Section 509(a)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (“Code”) for the benefit of Lifespace Communities, Inc., an Iowa nonprofit corporation, which is a publicly supported charity under Section 509(a)(2) of the Code.

The Lifespace Foundation, in addition to benevolent care, which remains our cornerstone, supports scholarships and emergency aid for team members and provides support for the special needs of our residents in each of our communities. Each community has the opportunity to raise funds for their health center, library, spiritual care, team member scholarships, team member emergency assistance and general use. The Lifespace Foundation supports residents who have chosen a Lifespace Community as their home and is the charitable arm of Lifespace Communities. It serves to separate the main business interests of Lifespace Communities from the charitable mission. The heart of our mission is to support the health and welfare of our residents. All monies raised to support The Foundation remain exclusively in The Foundation to serve the needs of our residents. All monies raised stay in the community for which the donation was earmarked for and/or for the purpose in which it was designated to support. Contributions to The Foundation are not used to cover expected and standard operational and capital expenses.
